Cisco has rounded off the year with their fifth acquisition in just 3 months. Dashbase, a Palo Alto-based company founded in 2016, has been targeted by the technology powerhouse for its events analytics and logs capability. Financial terms of the transaction have not been officially released.
The Dashbase acquisition will help Cisco strengthen its AppDynamics platform, the application performance business it acquired in 2017 for $3.7 billion.
Dashbase specialises in data visibility across multiple locations and platforms. The additional insight into performance issues and unification of data will be big USPs for the AppDynamics proposition, especially as businesses look to leverage the power of their data in a remote working environment going forwards.
The latest deal compliments the ThousandEyes acquisition which took place back in August. ThousandEyes is a network monitoring tool which Cisco has since integrated into AppDynamics.
Accelerated Digital Transformation
Linda Tong, General Manager of AppDynamics, wrote about the acquisition in a blog this week, “As a core part of Cisco’s portfolio of observability solutions, we are constantly evolving the Cisco AppDynamics platform to help users better see, understand and optimize the entire technology stack, all from the lens of business impact.
