VOSS Solutions has acquired data analytics and monitoring software firm LayerX Technologies.

The acquisition forms an “important” part of VOSS’ growth strategy and was made to support the accelerated business transformation journeys customers are undertaking as a result of the massive shift in employee working practices over the past two years.

The addition of LayerX will see VOSS extend its UC and collaboration automation management expertise across the full lifecycle of collaboration platforms – from discovery and migration, across orchestration and fulfillment, through to performance monitoring, management, analytics, and reporting.

“Our customers are all focused on ongoing business transformation journeys as they strive to enable their staff to work collaboratively and efficiently from any location, with a positive end user experience,” stated Mike Frayne, CEO at VOSS Solutions.

“The acquisition of LayerX extends our automation management and intelligence expertise across the lifecycle of the digital workplace, making it incredibly easy for our customers to manage their entire collaboration estate from a single platform and partner”

“Additionally, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with our existing shareholders and specifically Verdane and Claret Capital. Our investment partners have been extremely supportive throughout the deal and have the experience and track record to support and help accelerate our growth.”

VOSS also raised $15m from existing investors and shareholders to complete this acquisition and to position itself for further growth and expansion. The growth funding was led by Northern European growth equity investor Verdane, coupled with new investment capital from Claret Capital Partners and additional support from existing investors Vodafone Ventures and Fonciére Georges Mignon NV.

Jeff Graham, CEO at LayerX Technologies, added: “LayerX and VOSS are aligned in our vision for the future of the digital workplace. We believe that coupling high levels of automation with actionable intelligence will unlock the greatest benefits for our customers, leading to highly efficient, intelligently managed collaboration platforms.”

Emanuel Johnsson, Partner at Verdane, said:

“We see significant opportunity for further M&A-driven growth for VOSS to deliver reliable, competitive and cost-effective solutions that enable business transformations suited to the new digital landscape, and look forward to supporting the team on their continued growth journey”

“Employee working practices have altered from the pandemic and the need for advanced digital workplace management is more relevant than ever,” added David Bateman, Managing Partner of Claret Capital Partners.

“We are excited to support Mike and the entire VOSS Solutions team through our growth capital and investments as they continue to expand, innovate and provide customers with automation and insight to improve employee productivity and fuel business growth.”

Irwin Lazar, President and Principal Analyst, Metrigy, added that research shows strong support for adopting UC management tools for the digital workplace.

“Our research continues to show strong benefits for those adopting UC management tools to support digital workplace management, including a 41 percent reduction in  mean time to repair, and a 33 percent reduction in provisioning time,” he explained.

“The combination of LayerX and VOSS will allow enterprises to improve support for in-office and remote employees.”
