Innovators in the world of wellbeing, Thrive Global, are now working with leading technology providers, Cisco, on new strategies to overcome burnout and stress in the workplace. Cisco, as a global technology company, is looking to empower a more inclusive future for hybrid work, where everyone has the opportunity to work in a more immersive environment. However, Cisco also believes that people should always come first.

The partnership with Thrive Global builds on this focus on wellbeing in the workplace. Thrive Global combines simple steps, science, and storytelling to strengthen mental resilience. Interactive and personal tools help employees to overcome the issue of stress in real-time.

Now Cisco and Webex are bringing the biggest benefits of Thrive into the cutting-edge collaboration environment. This decision follows on from a consistent commitment from Cisco during the pandemic to deliver amazing flexibility, inclusivity, and security to teams around the world.

Combining Webex and Thrive

According to Cisco, the hybrid work environment means our need to collaborate and connect in human ways will be greater than ever. Technology can help to fill this gap, but there needs to be a strategy for keeping human beings in mind. Combining Webex with Thrive Reset, and Thrive Calls with the Webex Contact Centre is part of Cisco’s strategy to transform the work experience.

Thrive Reset tackles the issue of virtual fatigue emerging from countless back-to-back meetings. Reset counters stress by giving users an opportunity to focus and be more productive. With 60 second breaks between meetings and during meetings, Reset offers a chance to reflect, recharge, and break the chain of cumulative stress.

People using Webex will soon be able to download resets on various topics to help them with things like breathing, reflecting, and even reframing problems. Through the 60-second reset, breathing bubbles will guide users to inhale and exhale deeply. This deep breathing helps to reduce stress and focus the mind.

Users can even personalise their resets with things they love, like pictures of their pets, children, and breath-taking landscapes, as well as emotionally moving music, inspiring quotes, and more. There’s also an option to share a Reset across teams, offering a glimpse into the inner worlds of colleagues.

What About Thrive Calls?

Thrive Calls takes the same concepts into contact centres. Many contact centre agents are critical brand ambassadors, sitting on the front lines of the company. However, many of these agents also cope with huge amounts of stress. The Thrive Calls environment puts the science of handling stress into practice by helping agents to tackle stress when they most need the assistance, such as after a string of back-to-back calls, or a call that lasts more than 20 minutes.

Webex is thrilled to be bringing these new stress-reduction features into the market. According to Webex, if the last year has taught us something, it’s that we all need to evolve. Forward-thinking leaders and companies are using the lessons of the last year as an opportunity to redefine how we work and live. Any work model that promotes burnout needs to be left in the past.

Cisco and Thrive are working together to create a brighter future.
