As vendors in the communication and collaboration landscape continue to explore the possibilities of new disruptive technology, AR and VR is becoming an increasingly realistic opportunity. Spatial.io, a company with a mission to empower people to be more creative and connected in any environment, has now introduced its new Spatial AR collaboration workspace.

The first product designed by the Spatial company; this workspace intends to transform how people work by turning any room into an infinitely augmentable workspace. Within the Spatial.io environment, users can collaborate, brainstorm, search for information, and share ideas just as they would in the same room as their coworkers.

New Realities for Collaboration

Using virtual and augmented reality headsets, the Spatial AR collaboration environment allows individuals in a business to virtually teleport into an office environment, where they can enjoy a face-to-face experience that goes beyond the boundaries of video conferencing. The system creates a realistic avatar from 2D photos of the users and projects them into the same environment as their coworkers.

With Spatial AR, users can share visual representations of knowledge and information, extend data from PC and smartphones into an augmented reality environment, and more. No other solution on the market today provides the same experience when it comes to things like body language and non-verbal cues. The Spatial.io experience is also designed to be as accessible as possible, allowing users to join from any device, including phones, HoloLens equipment, and even MagicLeap devices.

When in an AR meeting, users can share and organise 3D videos, documents, models, images, and more. Work shared in a meeting is automatically saved, so that it can be revisited at any time from any device.

Extend Your Meeting Environment.

The Spatial.io meeting environment even allows users to extend their computer or phone content into the world around them, throwing data from your phone into the environment around you with drag-and-drop functionality. Already, companies like Ford and Mattel have begun to tap into the benefits of using mixed-reality collaboration tools to transform their global workforces with Spatial.io.

Providing a brand-new way to share content, ideas, and collaborate together on concepts unlike anything you’ve ever seen before – Spatial.io could be the future of the meeting environment. The Spatial.io experience was recently demonstrated at the Hololens 2 event, and demonstrations are now available on the Spatial.io website.
