Amid the Government COVID-19 UK Lockdown, NFON UK Managing Director, Myles Leach, has announced an online virtual expo event for new and existing channels entitled ‘Smarter Working Now’.

Scheduled for 4th June, Leach says that NFON had been set to attend various physical events over recent months but all had been either cancelled or rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and his event will offer resellers an exciting and timely show that will demonstrate how channels can get their businesses profitable in quick order.

“Resellers are looking for clear advice and direction from vendors on how to bounce back from the lockdown and return to profitable trading once more. We are being supported in this by a number of our key suppliers including Poly, Yealink and Gigaset so delegates will hear from a wide range of companies, not just ourselves.

To date, the reaction from the channels has been extremely positive both from existing partners and potential resellers all keen to get a fast start back in the market and jump ahead on their competitors.”

NFON say they took inspiration for their event from the highly successful UC Today online UC Summit held earlier in the year.

Leach says that large attendances achieved by UC Today worked well with resellers looking to maximise their work schedules.

“Analyst firms have indicated that COVID-19 will likely result in a big take up of hosted telephony, a scenario exampled at the end of April by the Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, stating that there has been two years of digital transformation activity squeezed into the last two months. Microsoft Teams, for example, has provided millions of additional licenses in recent weeks.

It is our view that during the lockdown many companies were caught out and surprised by the lack of headsets and laptops available to facilitate their own employee rollout of home working indicating that very few firms were prepared for this eventuality.

NFON hosted telephony, which is integrated with Microsoft Teams, will further bring ease of use and increased productivity to home workers.”

Leach reminds us that we are living in unprecedented times.

“The world of work has fundamentally changed. Businesses across the world have shifted to a full remote working model, with little to no preparation. For some the process was seamless – others are still struggling to adjust to this new normal”

“At our virtual expo on 4th June we will be showcasing smarter working and customer experience solutions across a series of ‘live’ demonstrations. There will be interactive virtual meetings, guest speaker presentations and more.

As communications specialists, renowned for being the disruptor in our field, we passionately believe in the ‘need to lead.’ Buckling down to just weather the storm isn’t an option. We want to explore opportunities to grow business through the provision of intelligent technologies.

The event will be a collaborative opportunity to discuss smart working options during the lockdown and ways to get a head-start on growth when it ends.

We will also be looking at how customer expectations and needs have changed and the opportunities that it presents. After all, we all know customers vote with their feet.”

In a YouGov survey, NFON commissioned of 2,000 Brits, over a quarter have had to wait over half an hour when calling a brand during the lockdown. 7% say they are planning to swap provider as a result and over one in five (22%) found it a negative experience.

Against that backdrop, Leach says his virtual expo will provide a unique opportunity for resellers to get a fast start when they return from lockdown.

‘Smarter Working Now’ sessions will be covering the following topics.

  • Smarter working – using technology to effectively lead and engage staff, whilst enabling continued and better collaboration and reduced costs etc.
  • Customer experience – delivering amazing moments and ways to measure/ increase ways to delight customers
  • Hardware hacks for success – the best tools we use to build the perfect ecosystem

More speakers and topics will be added in the coming weeks. Spaces will be limited to accommodate virtual Q&As.
