BlueJeans has launched a partnership with Glass which sees its Meetings product preloaded onto Glass wearables sold by parent company Verizon.

The partnership, first announced in September last year, is designed to enable supervisors to see the view of remote frontline employees – for example, engineers, technicians and warehouse workers.

Verizon revealed that the partnership has been launched in the form of a bundle that also includes Google’s Pixel 6 handset, which can provide 5G hotspots for the Glass hardware.

Tami Erwin, CEO of Verizon Business, said: “5G is the platform powering the future of work, enabling teams to leverage technology and reimagine what it means to get work done in a hybrid environment.

“Our collaboration between BlueJeans by Verizon, Google Pixel and Glass will deliver customers a high-quality, augmented reality experience that can help ease operational challenges and improve business outcomes”

“Together, Verizon Business and Google are making the future of work a reality, today.”

BlueJeans will sell the Glass Enterprise Edition 2 pre-loaded with BlueJeans Meetings for $1,139.99. A promotional deal will see customers save up to $700 on the headset if they buy a Pixel 6.

The collaboration vendor said that the combined benefits frontline workers by enabling them to seek support without having to leave a site, while knowledge workers can see exactly what their colleagues are looking at without having to travel.

Last October, BlueJeans launched its virtual office product which it said is designed to spark the same kinds of sporadic conversations that typically take place in a physical office.
