When it comes to the Internet, there is no force more widely known or as powerful as the sheer might of Google. From a consumer perspective, it is the handheld source of all knowledge that has ruined pub quizzes forevermore; from a modern business perspective, it is arguably one of the most important tools for connecting a company with its potential clients by ranking them above their competitors and putting them first in line for the search.

As well as this, Gmail is widely considered to be the most commonly used email platform and it is believed that over 1 billion people currently use their Gmail accounts to communicate with people across the world. With this in mind, to determine just exactly how Google has perfected their communication services for the business user, we have decided to write an insightful review on Google Meet – the company’s latest product designed specifically for video and conference calling.

What is Google Meet?

In a modern age where video calling is becoming the communication method of choice for both business and consumers alike, Google have decided to create a solution that allows all of its business Gmail users to effortlessly connect with one another through a single app at the click of a button. With this service, businesses are able to utilise a Google Hangouts feature designed specifically for enterprise users, providing high quality HD video meetings for both one-to-one and multiple user conference calls directly through their Gmail accounts.

What can it do?

With Full HD Video Calling, Google Meet ensures that every participant involved in the call is heard and received with absolute clarity, thus (depending on connection speed) ensuring no glitches or lagging interrupts important points made during a meeting and all information is successfully carried from one person to the next. Unlike a standard conference voice call, the Google Meet HD video ensures that all emotions and facial expressions are carefully captured and transported to the receiving party and capture the feeling that they are all in the same room together, irrespective of how far apart in distance they may be.

Whereas standard Google Hangout calls allow a maximum of up to 10 participants, the Google Meet allows businesses to carry out Conference Calls With Up To 30 Participants. This way, each and every person within an SME can be involved in the call should they need to be and the sense of unity and togetherness in the workplace is brought to an all time high. What do we like the most?

With so many useful and innovative features, we genuinely found it quite difficult to pick just one. However, we have to admit that we were incredibly impressed with the fact that users are able to join meetings directly from their Google Calendar and find this feature to be highly successful at helping staff members stay organised and in touch with what is happening in the business, allowing them to adequately prepare for upcoming meetings and make sure they have the information they wish to contribute, the ideas they wish to share and the concerns they wish to voice well in advance.

As a highly efficient communication tool that integrates with many of the existing Google features that play such an important role in day-to-day business practice, we feel that Google Meet is a valuable asset for businesses of just about any size, ranging from SMEs to large Enterprises. With basic packages starting at only £3.30 per month and the option to try the solution for 14 days free of charge, we feel this would be a wise investment for any business owner and believe that it has the power to increase staff productivity and in house communication considerably.
