Slack has recovered from a disruption that saw users of the platform report difficulties connecting and sending messages.

The collaboration vendor reported that the outage was due to a part of its infrastructure not being properly provisioned resulting in the platform unable to handle the traffic.

We discovered part of our infrastructure wasn’t provisioned appropriately, so it experienced performance issues and was unable to handle all the traffic. We intervened to make the needed capacity changes in order to resolve the trouble,” Slack stated.

“We’ve identified the issue and deployed a fix. If you are still affected, please reload Slack with Command/Control + Shift + R as that should resolve the issue for you. Apologies for the disruption we caused, and thank you for your patience.”

Users first reported the issues to the website Down Detector, with 53 per cent stating they were having difficulties sending messages on the service and 43 per cent reporting that they were having connection issues. Three per cent of users claimed they were having difficulties sending files on the platform.

This is not the first outage Slack has experienced this year. In January, an outage affected users around the world trying to connect or use the service.
