We’ve all suffered from the suspicion that our boss has a better phone, one of our customers has really flattering lighting on a video meeting and the supplier whose audio never drops out and never asks you to repeat a sentence. This leads us to feel that some people have either better connection, better equipment or are more technically savvy than us. However, this perception of different classes of communications services and equipment needs to stop.

Of course, there will always continue to be high-end hardware and, inevitably, sometimes the network will be stronger in one location than another but, the basic fundamentals of communication should provide a level playing field upon which all types of user can communicate without having to repeat themselves and appear disjointed or technically disadvantaged.

This is the thinking behind Poly’s new All Together initiative which encourages businesses to evolve beyond the limitations of physical space so teams can work together as one, regardless of their location. Poly aims to help organisations unlock all the possibilities of hybrid working. By using inclusive technology – assembled from software, services and analytics, Poly and its partners are showcasing how intelligent video and audio and noise blocking technology can make connecting intuitive, frictionless and effortless for all.

“In the blink of an eye, the fundamentals of business communication have transformed. Where we once had face-to-face meetings and firm handshakes, we now live in a world of virtual meetings,” explains John Goodwin, senior vice president, public affairs, Poly.

“Poly ensures that everyone can be part of the conversation, on any platform, from anywhere, with total meeting equality. We help businesses erase distance and amplify the exchange of ideas to the point that no one can remember whether they were shared on the screen or in the room”

Poly is building a library of resources including toolkits, webinars and infographics to help business and IT leaders transform inequitable hybrid interactions into seamless collaborative work experiences. The first is a new ebook titled: “Meeting Equality – the Key to Your Hybrid Work Environment”, which outlines the steps organisations can take to live up to the workplace needs of 2022 and beyond.
