AI should add value to a customer conversation not replace it!

We are in danger, as we are already seeing, of organisations relying too much on tech and allowing the customer experience to actually suffer rather than improve.

How many self-service attempts have you made to abort them, find there were cracks you fell into mid process and turned to wanting to speak to someone, to find that experience then became hard and sub-standard. No number on the site (as they relied too heavily on self service perfection), hard to reach anyone, long call queues and sub standard agent service. AI and new technology should complement the personalised and shortened customer journey not hinder it.
