Vidicode Launches GDPR Compliant Call Recorder
The solution makes it easy to manage recording in a GDPR world
Call recording solutions specialist Vidicode has launched a recorder to help its customers remain complaint under the new GDPR rules and obligations.
The Apresa Call Recording System, which is available on-premises, hosted, virtualised or OEM, has been designed with a number of features that make it easy for users to adhere to the GDPR rules.
“GDPR represents a challenge for existing call recording system owners due to the right to be forgotten, proof or refusal of consent, right to portability and the customer’s right to see his data which includes recorded calls,” commented Everton Stuart, Managing Director of Vidicode UK.
“These rights make it essential to find all recordings within one month for GDPR compliance.”
The system can record both line and extension side across N3, SIP/VoIP, ISDN II, E1/T1, TDM, Analogue and Audio (e.g. radio) communication and has several innovative GDPR specific features;
- Stop recording can be used should the customer being recorded for training purposes feels that their legitimate interest is being overridden
- Secure Deletion will delete calls for GDPR compliance so that they cannot be retrieved by any means in the future
- Call Marking & Screen Recording are ideal for rapid find and retrieval of calls under the GDPR right to be forgotten, along with the usual facility to find calls by using time, date, duration and via incoming CLI as search criteria
The previous Data Protection Act was replaced in May 2018 with the Europe-wide GDPR regulation whereby a company must now decide and justify which basis they use to process and retain customer data. These bases include Consent, Legitimate Interest, Contract, Legal Obligation, Vital Interests and Public Task.
Everton continues, “Whilst there are many clear benefits in choosing the Apresa to assist with regulatory compliance all is not lost for owners of legacy call recording systems as we offer a phrase and word matching platform through our sister company VoiceCrunch. This alleviates costly and time-consuming searches for a customer’s calls. However, the Apresa with VoiceCrunch is a powerful solution for those customers requiring Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as well as GDPR protection.”
