Yamaha Unified Communications has launched the CS-800 Video Sound Bar and CS-500 collaboration System to facilitate video conferencing in a range of workspaces.

The collaboration bars combine Yamaha’s audio processing technology with intelligent video to recognise the participants and conference space, SoundCap Eye to capture speakers’ voices, and a beamforming “Hexa-Microphone” to pick up audio and provide clear signals.

According to Yamaha, both collaboration bars provide excellent calling experiences for hybrid work environments by capturing sound and automatically adjusting the video and audio depending on the setting.

Tatsuya Umeo, CEO of Yamaha Unified Communications, said:

“The new CS-800 and CS-500 use Yamaha’s state-of-the-art audio processing technology with the latest in intelligent video technology to automatically identify the conference space and the meeting participants.

“Our signature technology, SoundCap Eye, combines video information with audio information to capture the speakers’ voices. The newly developed Hexa-Microphone not only discovers speakers but also eliminates distracting noises and sounds in the same vicinity.”

The CS-800 integrates the camera, speaker, microphone, and video output into one device, while the CS-500 has a camera, microphone, and video output and utilises the display speaker or another Yamaha or third-party speaker.

The collaboration bars can be installed via tabletop, wall hanging, or display mounting using optional mounting accessories.

Both the CS-800 and CS-500 have been certified as Zoom Rooms hardware devices following comprehensive testing.

Key features of the video collaboration systems include SoundCap Eye, Smart Framing, and Easy Launch.

SoundCap Eye is a new technology available on the CS-800 and CS-500 which uses positioning information from the camera to capture the speakers’ voices. The “Hexa-Microphone” uses beamforming to capture voices and deliver clear signals even in noisy environments. Automatic tuning functions assist these technologies in delivering appropriate volume.

The 4k camera in both models offers clear visuals and tracks meeting participants’ faces. The units also have a wide-angle lens with a 120° viewing angle to capture and zoom the relevant speakers to improve the meeting experience at the far end.

The CS-800 and CS-500 have an “Auto-Wake up” and “User Guide” functions, which automatically turn on the display and demonstrate how to start meetings when users enter a meeting space.

The collaboration bars both utilise a single cable connection, which runs between the CS-800 or CS-500 and the users’ laptops.

Yamaha Corporation was founded in 1887, and it has developed various products and services related to sound and music, including audio products, musical instruments, music schools, semiconductors, and more.

The unified communications arm of Yamaha offers audio and video conferencing solutions, such as enterprise-grade microphone systems, video sound bars, and conference phones. According to its website, “Yamaha brings to unified communications a passion for sound and performance that has been creating excitement and inspiration for more than 130 years.”
