Plantronics have developed devices to suit the requirements of users for many years and now some of their products have been developed to enhance specific platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business.

Jennifer explains that Plantronics have been conducting research into work styles for a long time and tells Patrick how the research has now developed into looking at the seven personas. The results can show how effective the implementation of a solution like Microsoft Teams can be.

“The success of solutions like Skype for Business and Teams is at actually risk – Our own research shows that only 14% of users in a typical enterprise environment are highly likely to adopt (new collaboration technology)”

Plantronics aim to help organisations improve adoption by better understanding how personalities can impact a user’s experience. Jennifer explains that their research has broken down the personas within an organisation to seven different groups of which all staff fall into at least a proportion of.

It is not as simple as breaking down personalities within different job roles as the use of technology can vary dramatically even within a single department.

“One size does not fit all when it comes to provisioning technology. Microsoft Teams maybe one piece of technology it needs to be used by a variety of different workstyles.”

Jennifer explains that software developed by Plantronics, Plantronics Manager Pro, can be used for a variety of functions including monitoring work styles. This can enable organisation to recognise adoption issues and rectify those. She runs through some of the personas and provides examples about how their potential adoption can be improved.

The remaining personas also include and office collaborator, a remote worker and a flexible worker and Jennifer runs through these and explains the differences and nuances to each.
