Global leader in the digital communications and collaboration environment, Avaya, recently announced a new addition to their leadership team. As part of their evolutionary journey in 2018, Avaya has welcomed Dino Di Palma to the brand – an industry veteran with outstanding achievements in the telecommunications environment. Di Palma will be taking on the newly-created role of President for Strategic Partners & Global Accounts. In this role, he’ll be responsible for supporting Avaya’s go-to-market strategy with leading strategic partners, system integrators, and technology solution providers around the world.

According to the CEO and President of Avaya, Jim Chirico, with Dino Di Palma, Avaya hopes to add a visionary of global communications and cloud services to their organisation, ready to lead Avaya’s charge into the cloud. Dino Di Palma has plenty of years of experience to bring to the role, as well as a unique understanding of the disruptive nature of today’s technology.

Support for Avaya’s Evolving Cloud Needs

The decision to bring Dino Di Palma onto the leadership team for Avaya comes from a higher focus on developing the cloud side of the company. According to Chirico, Dino will help to deliver an entrepreneurial-focused and disruptive mindset to the company, which could help them to take advantage of the digital transformation (DX) environment. Di Palma represents a powerful win for Avaya thanks to his incredible background in the digital communications space.

Before Dino came to Avaya, he was leading the way at competitor company BroadSoft, as Chief Revenue Officer. In BroadSoft, Di Palma was responsible for directing global sales operations. In the past, he’s also held a number of leadership positions for other companies like Acme Packet and Benu Networks.

The Rise of System Integrator Partnerships

As the communication environment continues to change, with end-users demanding more accessibility and features, it’s safe to say that solution providers and system integrator (SI) partnerships will play an important role for vendors. As Avaya continues to pursue their route to the cloud, with a focus on disruptive technology like artificial intelligence and machine learning, this new leadership strategy could be an important step forward. The brand hopes that their innovative and expert approach to the unified communication environment, combined with their contact centre knowledge will help them to drive more value for customers and partners.

He believes that his skills will help Avaya to support their diverse and demanding customers across a range of vertical markets.
