Wire LogoKnown as the most secure collaboration tool available on the market today, Wire is used by companies around the world for collaboration and communication. Wire has an advanced set of functionalities built-in to its core to support streamlined business operation, all the way from one-click voice and video, to instant messaging and screen sharing. Recently, the innovative company announced the creation of the world’s first open-source, end-to-end encrypted video conferencing service.

This secure video conferencing solution marks an important evolution in the Wire roadmap, helping the company to expand on their mission to secure business communication – regardless of which format it might come in. The video system will launch on desktop, iOS, Android, and web browser platforms to help companies work together securely and efficiently wherever they might be.

Supporting the Move to Video Communication

As the communication environment continues to evolve, many executives agree that video will soon be one of the major go-to forms of communication in the modern workplace. In fact, the CAGR for the video conferencing market is expected to see a growth of approximately 7.9% by the time we hit 2026, which means that there are countless companies out there already looking for a secure and innovative solution that complies with the latest GDPR rules.

According to the CEO of Wire, Morten Broegger, encrypted communications are a must-have for any business, and video conferencing solutions need access to a high level of protection too. As video calling becomes more critical to team collaboration, Wire are thrilled to have the opportunity to extend their impressive security services to new discussions across the globe.

The video conferencing system available through Wire will be accompanying the company’s existing portfolio of video calling, messaging, audio and file sharing solutions. Everything the business offers comes with the same high-level open source system, and end-to-end encryption.

Bringing Compliance to Video Conferencing

Wire Video ConferencingIn a press release discussing the newly encrypted video conferencing service, the Co-founder and CTO/COO for Wire, Alan Duric commented on the potential of the system. Alan noted that Wire has seen countless companies attempting to deal with the internal issues caused by non-compliance with the recently-implemented GDPR guidelines. Duric noted that there are still many communication systems out there that simply aren’t designed for use in the corporate environment and can’t protect data well enough to be truly secure.

By bringing video conferencing into their system, Wire hopes to become an even bigger competitor in the communication and collaboration marketplace – offering state of the art security along with fantastic user experience and high-level control.
