Interoute, a global network provider, and cloud solution, recently announced that it has been selected to provide more than 1,000 KM of dark fibre to south-west Europe. As the owner and operator of one of the largest networks in Europe, and a global cloud platform, Interoute is in a prime position to assist with the new project.

Interoute has an advanced fibre optic network that currently supports some of the top international enterprises in the world, including governments, mobile operators, internet service providers, and channel partners. Additionally, Interoute has connections to more than 195 third-party data centres in locations around the world.

Improving Connectivity Across Europe

As the demand for faster speeds, greater reliability, and enhanced performance continue to grow throughout Europe, Interoute’s ability to extend network capacity should help to provide critical assurance for the internet technology company’s project. Interoute has both the technology and background knowledge to deliver reliable, high-performance connectivity for a range of intensive and high-bandwidth application workloads.

According to the Research Director for Global Data, Joel Stradling:

“Interoute stands out in the market with its wholesale dark fibre. As owner-operator of a large and advanced pan-European fibre and data network, its strong Mediterranean presence supports customers including OTTs and internet giants with getting close to new and existing cable systems coming into the region.”

Responding to Expanding Data Demands

Throughout the globe, capacity requirements and speed expectations are continuing to grow among businesses and individual internet users alike. Interoute’s vast infrastructure and high-quality network ensures that it can provide versatile and reliable solutions for both service providers and their end-users.

According to the Vice President for Commercial Operations at Interoute, Jonathan Wright, the company is thrilled to be chosen for the project in this competitive marketplace. Interoute is often chosen as the ultimate network for companies with large data demands and a need for versatility. As organisations continue to invest into cloud and online services, Interoute hopes that they will be able to continue providing the robust infrastructure needed to support the thriving digital space.
