Sky Business, the business-to-business division of the Sky enterprise, recently announced their decision to partner with SSE Enterprise Telecoms – one of the leading connectivity providers in the UK. Up to now, Sky Business has offered a wide selection of services to commercial customers around the UK, from Sky Ethernet to Sky . With the help of SSE Enterprise telecoms and their class-leading data and connectivity services, Sky hopes to deliver next-level connectivity to organisations all around the UK.

According to the latest reports about the upcoming collaboration, the agreement between Sky and SSE Enterprise Telecoms will allow both companies to expand their footprint significantly – to around 96% of the business postcodes in the UK.

The Sky and SSE Connectivity Partnership

SSE Enterprise Telecoms has an estate of 15 data centres around the UK and a state-of-the-art in-house engineering resource. The partnership between SSE and Sky comes after a strong period of growth and investment for SSE, with a 186% increase in Ethernet orders since 2015. Together, Sky and SSE will be able to offer cost-effective and high-capacity Ethernet services to businesses around the country, responding to significant market demands for reach and reliability.

The partnership between SSE Enterprise Telecoms and Sky brings together SSE’s expansive network reach, and Sky’s nationwide data network. Sky will provide SSE Enterprise Telecoms with last-mile and backhaul services, which should allow more than 200 service provider customers to benefit from a stronger reach, and a greater degree of choice. The solution also provides a highly resilient network, complete with re-routing to minimise disruption.

The Demand for Stronger Connections

According to recent reports in the digital connectivity space, private interconnection bandwidth has the power to increase at a CAGR of 45% – hitting approximately 5,000 TBps by 2020. This means that it can perform much better than public internet. Both SSE and Sky feel that UK companies will begin to look towards more secure and competitive deals in the digital space to support this higher level of demand.

The partnership between SSE Enterprise Telecoms and Sky will also combine their reseller network, giving the two companies greater access to the UK business market. What’s more, SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ dedicated support team will be on hand to offer value-added guidance and industry-leading customer service. Currently, SSE Enterprise Telecoms have an NPS score of 50+.
