3CX customers will be pleased to learn that they can test-drive a whole new version of 3CX after the company announced a new major update to the system. The update is built on top of their proven v15 core architecture, which is why it’s been named 15.5.

Perhaps the most appealing feature of the new version is the latest 3CX web client. Constructed using the latest web technology, the client offers users simple and straight-forward access to all their must-have 3CX features without the need to install any additional software. It also integrates video conferencing, new switchboard solutions, and chat alongside a web-based wallboard. Perhaps most importantly, it also comes with a modern feel and look, and plenty of fantastic features for usability. You can simply start and schedule video conferences straight from the client.

To get your credentials to log into your web client, you might need to request your welcome email again. Administrators, on the other hand, can always select the new “Select All” option within their management console to send out a welcome email to all of their users at the same time.

The features mentioned above aren’t the only update you can expect from version 15.5 either. 3CX have also given their full desktop call control centre a huge overall. Now, it’s based in uaCSTA technology, any supported phones, Snom and Yealink solutions can all be reliably controlled through the simple desktop client, even if your phone system is currently running in the cloud.

You’ll be able to perform attended and blind call transfers, record calls, and start new conference calls, all without having to learn cryptic interfaces for your new deskphone. Additionally, a new Click 2 call extension for Chrome will complement this new feature, and there’s a guide available online. You will also be able to remote control your 3CX solutions and software clients as well.

And that’s not All…

The update still isn’t over. 3CX have also added the hotel module back into the 3CX, and it’s now going to be included as a Free-of-charge feature with any PRO license. The system will support the new Google FIREBASE push, required for any new Android versions to support the PUSH network, and they have added fax for over G711. The feature for music on hold has also been improved too, with PDF reports capable of being updated and generated on Linux.

To get your hands on 15.5, you’ll be able to simply download either the Linux or Windows version depending on your preference. On the other hand, you can simply take the whole thing for a test-drive using the 3CX PBX express tool.
