Patrick was joined by special guests from Formation Tech, Mike Wheadon, their Sales Director, and Carl Hardie, their Business Development Director.
After the usual introductions, Patrick asks the guys about their highlights for Formation over the past 12 months. Carl gives us the background on Formation and their areas of expertise which cover the entire UC landscape. Their cloud platforms are designed to enable fully flexible working for their customers.
“Our ultimate aim is to be disruptors in the UC space.”
Mike then explains some of the founding principles that have enabled Formation to grow so quickly. Looking back at 2018 the guys pick out UC EXPO and their position as one of the primary partners on the Avaya stand, as a major highlight.
The guys also discuss some of the awards that they have won within the industry, including Avaya’s Midmarket Growth Partner of the Year 2018.
“The growth as a business has been monumental.”
In terms of industry trends impacting Formation collaboration tools like Skype for Business, and in particular Microsoft Teams, have become more and more prevalent within the industry. Formation, rather than resisting that competition, are working alongside those platforms to try and ensure customers realise the best solutions possible by using the solutions in combination with one another.
Carl also examines the changing market trends, in terms of purchasing models and the move to subscription based services, where some traditional providers are struggling to transform their businesses. As a cloud native, cloud only business this isn’t a concern for Formation.
Looking ahead to 2019 Mike and Carl are keen for Formation to continue their impressive growth, but they are also placing an increasing focus on their provision within the contact centre.
