With the Ascom IP-DECT portfolio, you don’t even need to replace your previous legacy systems. The new services can be combined with modern IP-PBX solutions for a fantastic high-quality installation. Full handover and roaming are supported across Ascom IP-DECT access points too.

Let’s take a look at each of the components of the IP DECT portfolio in greater depth.

The Ascom IP DECT Gateway and Access Point

The IP-DECT gateway is a simple but effective bridging device that allows you to connect your legacy DECT infrastructure with modern IP-PBX solutions through a LAN connection. The Ascom gateway allows you to continue building on your original investments, without compromising on the futuristic solutions of modern IP.

Ascom also offers their own IP-DECT Access point, which comes with a compelling compact design and an integrated antenna for better connectivity. The access point system connects directly to your IP-PBX solution through local area networks, and it can also support Power over Ethernet integration for an easy install too. There’s no additional cabling required to add the Access Point to your telephony stack.

To ensure state of the art security and privacy, Ascom’s Access point is encrypted and supports cipher re-keying in calls to safeguard against any potential access from eavesdroppers. There are also multiple channels available so that you can make up to 8 voice calls at any given time. The Access Point comes with messaging, a dedicated alarm channel, and exceptional coverage from a radio perspective. You can even connect extra antennae into the mix to improve your range.

Ascom Myco 2 Smartphone

For those looking to take advantage of the new mobile workforce, the Ascom Myco 2 smartphone provides enterprise-grade mobility in the retail and healthcare industry. The smartphone comes with solutions to empower users, by connecting them with their coworkers, patients, machines, information systems, and even alarms. The service runs on Android and provides a stable platform for exceptional security, location, and alert management services. There’s also full support for Google Mobile systems too.

Ascom Handset Endpoints

The Ascom smartphone isn’t the only endpoint option offered by this communication leader. Ascom also delivers a selection of handsets which are custom-made to work perfectly alongside their IP-DECT strategy.

The Ascom D81, for instance, is a compelling DECT handset designed to be used in high-traffic environments. This highly-durable handset is perfect for demanding environments that require a lot of motion and instant access to communication. Alongside high-quality audio and clear telephony, the d81 handset also comes equipped with advanced messaging abilities which make it the ideal option for interacting with colleagues in any environment.

Ascom offers the D81 handset in various license models, from a telephone with messenger attached, to an advanced model featuring personal alarm solutions. Both the “Messenger” and “Protector” handsets are also available in safe models, for environments that may have explosive risks present.

Alternatively, there’s also the D63 handset, which offers enterprise-grade telephony quality complete with wideband audio and professional messaging services. The system comes equipped with on-site positioning, Bluetooth connectivity, and a personal alarm, all in a simple and easy-to-use DECT handset. Alongside telephony support, the messaging services available with the D81 handset are also accessible on the D63 – making it another great option for employees on the go.

Like the D81, the D63 is available in a range of license dependent models, including handset-only solutions and a service that supports the Messenger feature.

Ascom TDM-DECT Base Station

Finally, the Ascom TDM-DECT base station comes with everything you need for fantastic radio coverage in an enticing compact design, with an integrated antenna and cable length support of up to 1.5km. The base station is probably the most cost-effective way to extend your coverage in a small remote site, and there are multiple channels available, just like with the Ascom Access station.

You can connect the TDM-DECT base station to your IP-PBX through the Ascom IP-DECT gateway. The TDM-DECT and IP-DECT points work simultaneously, so your handsets can simply switch seamlessly between them over time. All of the wireless transmissions sent through this station will be encrypted, to support business-wide security.

The Ascom IP DECT Experience

If you’re looking for a simple and effective way to combine your on-premise legacy telephony services with the latest state-of-the-art technology for IP communication, then Ascom offers a fantastic solution. The IP-DECT portfolio is easy-to-use, feature rich and high in quality – perfect for any company facing the next stage of their digital transformation.
