Founded in 1996, Snom is a German based company that specialises in creating a wide variety of high quality VoIP based SIP telephones for small to medium sized businesses.

Unlike telecom industry giants such as Mitel and Avaya, Snom phones are generally compatible with cloud and SIP based phone systems. This review will explore the pros and cons of the product the functionality and the overall cost versus potential ROI.

Before we continue, however, we must stress that we are not selling this product, we are simply giving our professional opinion on how useful the product may or may not be to your business and we encourage you to do the same by contributing to our comments and review section located at the bottom of this page.

How would the D375 look on your desk?

With its minimalist yet highly functional design and a sleek black finish the oozes style whilst projecting an aura of professionalism to anyone that walks past it, the Snom D375 is a classy addition to any office desktop and (we think) is well worth the relatively low price (average online price: £89.99/$109.99) just for its looks alone.

What can it do?

By including standard features such as speed dial, extension and presence indication on the nifty and easily navigable LCD display, the D710 ensures users are able to quickly access important information before, during or after a call with minimal hassle. If you’re working in a growing company where time is money, shaving off those extra couple of minutes spent searching for a number could make a huge difference further down the line.

What else can it do? (The Rest)

In business, misunderstandings and confusion over who said what can often lead to disastrous results and play a huge role in decreasing productivity, inhibiting efficiency and basically slowing the whole company down on numerous levels. Fortunately, with the excellent HD Sound Quality that’s available on the D710, users are able to have crystal clear audio conversations with clients and colleagues on a consistent basis and can take ultimate comfort in knowing that they were heard (and can hear everything) correctly.

Moreover, as well as being heard clearly by just one person, in some instances such as group meetings or conference calls, it is important that you are heard clearly by multiple people. With the Advanced Speaker and Microphone System that is built in to D710 handset, users can speak freely and absorb sound as clear as a whistle.

With 4 Context Sensitive Function Keys and 5 Freely Programmable Function Function Keys, the D710 offers users the chance to quickly access important information at the click of a button and select some of the features that are most likely to use based on whatever their job role may be. As well as speeding up the efficiency and productivity of each user, this feature also adds a much more personalised touch that gives the user a sense of control and allows them to create a bespoke tool that is a comfort for them to use.

In lieu of any costly and time-consuming exterior wiring, the D710 is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) solution that can be plugged directly into a users computer and ready to use within minutes. As well as reducing wiring costs, this ready from the box product cuts down heavily on energy usage and is a huge friend to both the environment and anyone who is responsible for paying he electricity bill.

What do we like most about it?

In an age where the vast majority of technological products available on the market are manufactured with a limited lifespan in the hope that people will put their hands in the pocket 5 years down the line, Snom prevails. These are products that are built for SMEs that need a solution that will support their business through periods of growth without forcing them to keep reinvesting in new products that do the same thing. For this reason, we respect the brand and the D710 for the reliability it offers to users.

What don’t we like about

Obviously this phone can in no way match the luxurious aesthetics and impressive features seen on some of the high end products. No touch screen LCD screens or place to update your Facebook status here. However, if you want a phone that masters the basics, is reliable and isn’t going to break the bank then the D710 is an ideal choice.

How about compatibility?

This is a SIP phone so best to make sure your telephone system supports this exact phone. Generally speaking Snom phones work with most SIP platforms (like 3CX) but always check for compatibility before purchasing.

Where can you buy this phone and how much is it?

As we mentioned at the start, the Snow D710 is currently retailing for approximately £89.99/$109.99 based on an average price from various sellers listed in Google Shopping.

So what do we think?

If you are searching for a phone that is elegantly designed, offers a number of useful features that can be accessed quickly and modified to suit the needs of each individual user, then the Snom D710 would be a wise choice for your business. Quick to set up, cheap to maintain and can be used for both large and small-scale deployments, this phone is a solution that meets the needs of many and we strongly recommend it.

And what about you?

Though we’ve given you our opinion on the Snom D710, what we really want to hear about is what you have to say. Good or bad, if you’ve had any experiences with this product that you would like to share with us, please feel free to submit your rating comment in the section below and it will go towards the overall user rating.
