8×8 XCaaS (eXperience Communications as a Service) has been deployed by AdvancedMD as the company moves to cloud communications.

The organization has selected 8×8 to provide improved call quality, collaboration, and security capabilities as a way of improving employee and client experience.

Additionally, 8×8 is verified as a third-party by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), meaning the company can provide AdvancedMD with the security capabilities they require.

Hunter Middleton, Chief Product Officer at 8×8, said: “Healthcare organizations have an immense responsibility to their patients due to the highly sensitive nature of the information they have access to.

“As a result, these organizations need to ensure their systems are secure, resilient, and HIPAA compliant.

“As a business within the healthcare sector, AdvancedMD needed to know that the solutions it relies on are able to provide the level of customer care and support needed for that industry.

“Now, with 8×8, AdvancedMD enjoys the ease and accessibility of a single-vendor platform to improve collaboration and communication, all with crystal clear call quality.”

According to 8×8, AdvancedMD has previously struggled with incompatible communications solutions that did not integrate well and lacked the security requirements needed.

Employees at AdvancedMD will now have access to voice, team chat, video meetings, and CPaaS embeddable APIs, which are all featured in the 8×8 XCaaS platform.

AdvancedMD is a cloud-based patient management software designed for medical practitioners.

The software allows medical providers to keep track of and process patient data as well as their medical fees.

In recent months, 8×8 XCaaS has been deployed by UK travel operator National Express and Hounslow Borough Council in London.

XCaaS is a term coined by 8×8, which refers to an integrated cloud-based communication solution from the company, which combines Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) into a single solution.

The company officially launched the product in May 2021, aiming to erase the boundary between UCaaS and CCaaS by using cloud-based integrations.
