Plan.com has introduced a second mobile network for customers through a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) agreement with BT Wholesale.

The unified communications platform provider has added EE’s 4G and 5G networks with VoLTE and VoWiFi functionality to its offering.

According to plan.com, customers will benefit from more choice, flexibility, improved wireless and wireline connectivity, and EE’s superfast network speeds.

Dan Craddock, CEO and Co-Founder of plan.com, said: “Today’s launch marks an exciting era for plan.com and is a significant step forward for the business.

“We have improved our platform capability, enhanced our value proposition, and with two UK mobile networks now on our my.plan platform, our channel partner and customers will benefit from an improved suite of products, services and functionality, designed to meet their changing needs.

“We’re excited to bring our enhanced unified communications offering to market and look forward to working with the BT Wholesale team in the coming months.”

Plan.com says it is transforming the workforce connectivity of UK brands and businesses with the network level control, analytics, and real-time insights of its UC solutions.

BT Wholesale has signed a number of MVNO agreements in the past. Earlier this year, it announced an MVNO agreement with Truphone. Wireless Logic also entered into the same agreement with BT Wholesale last October. In total, BT’s MVNO team supports 30 brands and mobile services to over 4 million end-users.

Nick Wootten, Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) Director at BT Wholesale, said: “Today’s launch is an exciting development for the channel and plan.com customers, who are now able to enjoy average mobile speeds that are four times faster than they could previously.

“With business customers placing an increasing importance on data speeds and 5G coverage, we’re delighted to see this new mobile proposition go live on the market leading plan.com portal, ensuring such valued customers also have access to the UKs best 5G network and superfast low latency connectivity across the UK, as we progress our plans to deliver a 5G solution anywhere in the UK by 2028.

“Given BT Wholesale’s belief that wholesale partnerships are important to maximise the overall market share for BT Group, we understand the value in providing our partners and their customers with the best network experience, and we look forward to supporting plan.com with their future growth plans as a new MVNO.”

Plan.com was founded in 2014, and in 2020 it was ranked in the top 200 of the FT1000 list of Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies. The company released its my.plan business platform in the same year. Its connectivity solutions can be deployed for UK businesses with up to 10,000 employees.

EE was acquired by BT in January 2016, and it has been a part of BT’s consumer division since April of that year. Its MVNO agreements which utilise the EE network, enable companies to provide their customers with mobile services using their own brands.

BT Wholesale also launched a hosted Teams offering for channel partners last month.
