Ever wondered what it would be like to be a star in your favourite TV show or sing your favourite song in (not so) perfect harmony alongside some of your musical icons? Well, with the fuse.it app all of your dreams could finally come true!

Launching in the Apple App Store on Dec 5, fuse.it is an augmented reality and customisable video app that lets people create their own fun, unique and shareable videos where they can interact with a wide range of different 3D animated characters and personalities, including some of the world’s most powerful politicians (because who doesn’t want to feature in a video with Donald Trump…?).

As well as this, fuse.it allows people to become part of the latest trending memes and breaking news clips by letting them insert themselves directly into the action and dictate how scenes play out.

Moreover, users can also stage conversations with various media personalities, sing and dance with celebrities and even create their own viral news clips by blending themselves into any video in real-time by using smart camera input manipulation technology, 3D transformation and various different effects.

“Fuse.it redefines the way people socially react to media by letting them integrate their favorite video content into their world in just one tap,” said Liat Sade-Sternberg, CEO of fuse.it.

“It allows people to become content creators, with users easily able to make viral videos from fake news clips to memes. As we see augmented reality become more mainstream, so too will we see more apps that mix creative animated worlds with the real world and fuse.it is at the forefront of this technology.”

Though the application seems to be targeted specifically at the consumer, if history has told us anything it’s that what’s popular in the consumer market will inevitably cross over to the enterprise at some point further down the line.

Much like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and other social media platforms, the more they are used, the more familiar and convenient they become, and this could be just another demonstration of how the ever-evolving world of communications is heading towards an augmented-reality-driven-future.
