Award-winning ITSP VoIPstudio has released its latest mobile app which allows its users to use the platform across their Android and iOS based devices.

The app, which was written entirely by VoIPstudio’s internal development team, brings all of the features of the cloud communications solution to mobile users and is ideal for remote, flexible and mobile workers.

“The take up has been fantastic and the feedback so far has been very positive,”

“It is clearly something that people have been waiting for and we’re happy that it’s been so well received. There’s been a PC and a Mac softphone for a very long time and most of our clients use softphones,” explains Rob Seymour, Marketing Director at VoIPstudio.

As well as being able to use the app to make and receive calls whilst on the go, users are also able to manage calls as if they were based in the office, easily placing the calls on hold and transferring between users, add contacts, access voicemail inbox and chat using instant messaging – in short, anything that could be done of the desktop client can now be completed on the mobile app.

Rob also highlighted that with the increase in flexible working and younger, more tech savvy generations entering the workplace the move to softphones and mobile clients will become the norm. “A lot of our younger clients wouldn’t even consider using a desktop phone. I think that’s the way it’s going. Younger people are more at home with doing everything through a softphone on their laptop and having a client on their mobile. That’s the way the market’s moving.”

Rob continued that “most of our clients tend to use softphones, we don’t sell huge amounts of hardware despite our integrations with many handset manufacturers including Cisco, Grandstream, Snom and Yealink. Any greenfield site tends to be a softphone installation. Customers we win from a traditional on premises PBX vendor or other VoIP or Cloud providers tend to have legacy handsets. But the growth we see is in softphone-only installations and we only see that increasing with our new mobile app.”

The Mobile App is designed to mimick the functionality of the Desktop Softphone and is the preferred endpoint to get the most from the VoIPstudio platform. “It’s certainly easier to access features like company directory via the softphone and mobile client than it would be using a deskphone. There’s a lot of stuff you can’t do comfortably just using a touchpad. And then there’s the whole Reception Console that really does need to be used from a desktop client so users are restricting themselves to the features they can access if they are relying solely on a deskphone,” added Rob.

VoIPstudio is a professional-grade UCaaS phone service, available at consumer-level pricing. It offers the quality and security guarantees that business customers demand, while delivering innovative features and functionality, flexibility, scalability, and a rich user experience, all backed by a dedicated, omni-channel customer support service.
