ADAPT-ing to a New World of Work

Why hybrid workers need better audio: EPOS ADAPT 100 headsets bring noise-cancelling mic, ActiveGard, USB-A/USB-C and Teams Certified support. Published on UC T

Adapting to the new world of work

Today’s knowledge worker is no longer bound to a desk in an office or at home, and is experiencing greater freedom and flexibility than ever before, about how and where they do their work.

But that very flexibility creates new challenges for the audio experience, which becomes harder to optimise for different environments when this is constantly changing. Poor sound kills remote collaboration more quickly than anything else, and while we can always pause video or downgrade file-sharing, audio cannot be compromised — however much the setting may vary. A smarter solution is needed to reflect this fluidity, and the EPOS ADAPT 100 series has been created to meet this growing demand from a new wave of hybrid-working professionals.

New headsets for new ways of working

Using EPOS Voice™ technology with a noise-cancelling microphone to optimise the user’s voice pickup to enhance their calls, with the new ADAPT 100 series it doesn't matter whether they are at home, in an office, or a third space like a local co-working or coffee shop — even on the move, and regardless of whether they’re using their own mobile device or an enterprise laptop. Location-independent working is all about choice, which is why each new headset comes with an option of 3.5 mm jack, USB-A or USB-C adaptors, making it easy to switch tools as easily as you move from desk to car to living room.

The integrated EPOS ActiveGard® technology also protects users from acoustic shock, if they are moving from one environment to another, which is particularly important when on and off public transport and shifting location in a hot-desking work-from-anywhere lifestyle. And because premium audio underpins the effectiveness of UC in the distributed and hybrid world, and the ADAPT 100 is available in a Microsoft Teams Certified variant with a dedicated button, that enables users to jump straight into Teams meetings with a single touch.

All-day connection and communication

Working remotely means finding new ways to stay connected to colleagues and customers, and many people spend hours in video and audio communication as part of their work. For this reason, the ADAPT 100 series is built for all-day comfort, with large on-ear leatherette or foam ear pads, as part of a light and ergonomic design. The discreet boom arm folds neatly away when not on calls, so the headset is designed to be worn all day without the need to put it on or take it off, as users transition seamlessly in and out of different tasks.

As Jesper Kock, EPOS Vice President, Research and Development, stated recently: “If we’ve learned anything over the past year, it’s that we’re adaptable, flexible and resilient when it comes to doing business. Beyond that, we’ve found great value in having high-quality audio solutions available to us, and we’ve seen that many global organisations have recognised audio as a key enabler of business continuity.

“That’s why we’ve designed the ADAPT 100. It’s a device series that’s developed with today’s hybrid workforce in mind. Lightweight and crafted for all-day comfort it enables users to collaborate seamlessly no matter their location”
