The GN Group, a global leader in intelligent audio systems (and parent company of Jabra, the headset and audio specialist), recently completed its purchase of Altia Systems, a company dedicated to the creation of high-level video systems and intelligent streaming. The conditional agreement was announced on the 19th of February this year.
Altia Systems, based in Cupertino California, is well-known for the creation of innovative video technology, including the PanaCast camera systems. PanaCast software delivers state-of-the-art 180-degree video streams in Panoramic 4K, 5K, and 3D, using highly optimised multi-camera arrays. The PanaCast solutions and Intelligent Vision solutions are currently in use across 1,60 companies worldwide.
The GN Group, a business with more than 150 years of history in everything from telegraph cables to intelligent audio, will be using the latest acquisition to expand its impressive portfolio in the audio market. The GN Group will now be able to go beyond the opportunity to transform lives through sound and explore plug-and-play video communications too.

The combination of the intelligent solutions delivered by both Altia Systems and GN Audio will create an advanced audio-visual communication strategy. The AV solution should have both the pioneering audio and video required to support exceptional meeting efficiency and collaboration.
GN Audio already has a strong position in the market for Unified Communications thanks to their Jabra Evolve line of headphones. The brand is also very well-known in the speakerphones market for small meeting rooms and office use, with Jabra Speak. The ability to add high-quality video to these leading solutions will give GN Audio an exceptional opportunity to enter the market of plug & play AV systems. The business will be particularly well-suited to the small collaboration room space - otherwise known as the huddle room.
