DTEN’s attendance at UC Expo Europe, taking place on October 12th-13th, couldn’t come at a better time for the US-based video conferencing & collaboration company, following their recent running streak of product innovations and award wins.
Being one of the largest Unified Communications events in Europe, UC Expo encompasses the latest ‘must have’ technologies and insights for increased productivity, as well as enhanced employee and customer experience.
As the event draws nearer, DTEN's Head of EMEA, Doug Remington, gave me a preview of the company's new products and features to be showcased.
DTEN ME Pro: 'Inclusiview' Feature
DTEN's ME Pro is a 27-inch, all-in-one device with multiple uses: It can be used in small huddle spaces, booths, and pods, as well as serve as a personal device, a kiosk, or a workspace reservations solution. Having recently won Best Hybrid Collaboration Product at the UC Awards, its efficiency for present-day collaborators has been established.
While the device itself has already been in the market for a while, what's currently interesting to discuss is its new Inclusiview feature.
"This feature has recently debuted at InfoComm and has won rAVe's Best of Show Award. It's extremely effective within the hybrid environment," Remington shares.
To explain how Inclusiview works, it's important to note that the ME Pro has a 3-camera array, providing a 160-degree field of view, which enables smart framing.
"Inclusiview allows people to spread quite widely in a small space while capturing all of them individually and framing them in their own view effectively, without the bending and distortion often seen on wide-angle cameras," Remington explains.
This, in turn, provides that much-needed meeting equity, where each person is clearly represented, no matter where they're located in relation to the device. Moreover, if anyone moves, Inclusiview can reframe and reposition them to retain the optimal view for each participant. It's a great fit for spaces like huddle rooms or booths, where multiple people gather in front of a smaller device.
DTEN Mate
DTEN Mate is a recently launched, Red Dot award-winning device, that can be used as either a controller or a scheduler and can either be placed on the desk or on a wall outside the door. It's designed to be paired with both DTEN Zoom Room solutions and any other Zoom Room solution available.
"While the all-in-one devices are wonderful for smaller rooms, when you're in larger rooms, you may want to have a controller closer to hand that you can run the meetings from," Remington explains.
The Mate comes in two different versions – PoE and Wi-Fi – with the Wi-Fi version allowing some extra freedom and flexibility.
