A representative for Konftel revealed at Barcelona ISE that it has five video packages and a ceiling mounting kit soon to be available. The video endpoint provider's new Konftel Attach packages are designed to support Microsoft Teams and Zoom meetings. Konftel's ceiling mounting kits have been made for rooms which don't have fixed tables so a microphone and speakers can be effectively held in place. Tommy Edlund, Global Sales Director at Konftel, also spoke about the trends for Bring your Own Meeting (BYOM) versus in-room solutions: "At the beginning of Covid, we saw a lot of Bring your Own Meeting in the room. "You brought your own laptop into the room and ran your own communication platform. "What we have seen now after two years is people talked, certain platforms became standardised, and the preference is now to go for an installed PC running the platform." Edlund also shared with UC Today that the in-room setup causes the fewest difficulties for most IT technicians. In spite of this, Edlund believes there will be a mix of BYOM and in-room usage, even in large companies. Generally speaking, large rooms are likely to be used for installed PCs, and small rooms will be BYOM spaces. Edlund says: "We will see a mix even in the big companies. "We have some rooms with MTR or Microsoft Teams Rooms, meetings with PCs and some rooms where you bring your computer. "When our business was very young, we spoke all about connections. Now we talk about in-room, PC or bring your meeting and so on. "But what's important is building the room, so it's flexible and usable for all the users." Konftel's latest releases have arrived soon after the news that the Konftel Cam 20 had been certified by Zoom, making it the second Konftel product to receive certification. Last month, Konftel was also awarded the title of climate-neutral for the third consecutive year, following numerous commitments the company has made to reduce its carbon footprint.
