The bedrock of the solution, Taurus UCX/TPX Series Universal Switchers, allows Teams Rooms users to easily connect their personal laptops to the room’s meeting system, enabling content sharing and access to lighting, projector, and shade controls.
Gergely Vida, CEO of Lightware Visual Engineering, commented on the new Microsoft Teams Rooms integration: “This solution is ideal for corporate office spaces, education facilities, conference venues and any environment with dedicated Microsoft Teams Rooms capabilities.
“It not only simplifies the technical aspects of running meetings but also enhances the overall user experience, allowing participants to focus on the agenda rather than the technology.”
Universal Switchers for Teams Rooms
Lightware Taurus switches differentiates itself to typical Teams setups that use local PC or Codec by adding further connectivity options through multiple source inputs and USB peripheral support.
As a result, users can take part in meetings, use their own devices, and integrate with the room’s audio-visual infrastructure.
Taurus provides integrated laptop charging and Ethernet connectivity. Furthermore, with the Lightware Companion App configured and the Companion module integrated within Lightware Advanced Room Control (LARA), further functionality can be added to improve meeting room capabilities.
Lightware Taurus Switchers have been certified for use by a range of meeting room manufacturers, such as Poly, Logitech, Lenovo, Yealink, and Barco.
The advanced universal switcher, Taurus UCX, is a compatible option that delivers both USB-C and HMI connectivity in a single device, turning meeting spaces and huddle rooms into what Lightware describes as a “unified communication powerhouse”.
