Pure AV has supported London Metropolitan University in upgrading its medical education facilities with cutting-edge AV technology.
As a longstanding partner, Pure AV worked with London Metropolitan University to introduce new technologies, provide technical advice, and ensure high standards, complementing the University's ambition to set a global standard in healthcare education through its new School of Human Sciences.
Early meetings between Pure AV and the University addressed space layouts, goals, budgets, and timelines before the former consulted with technology partners to meet the desired specifications. After identifying suitable technologies, Pure AV facilitated communication between the University and providers. Satisfied with the proposals, the University authorised Pure AV to proceed with room schematics and coordinate with the building contractor.
The result is what both Pure AV and the University affirm as a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide innovative healthcare simulation and training across carefully planned study and simulation environments.
Julie-Ann MacLaren, Head of Nursing at London Metropolitan University, said:
As healthcare transitions to a more digital landscape, it's important that our students have access to cutting-edge equipment and resources. Establishing a simulation skills centre, with high quality AV, ensures that we can provide our students with the very best in preparation for the evolving digital world of nursing."
Specifics Of The Installation
Medical simulation is crucial to London Metropolitan University's healthcare training. The facility features various simulated environments that mimic real clinical settings for realistic learning scenarios.
An 86" Clevertouch display at the front provides interactivity, while an AMX control panel allows easy content sharing and AV control. Central to this space is SMOTS, a bespoke system for medical observation and recording. Discreet cameras, speakers, and scenario controls capture video, audio, and vital readings.
Lecturers review these recordings with students in the Telehealth environment, designed for both individual and group learning. A fully integrated lectern with custom AMX control allows easy management of room systems. Ceiling-mounted Aver cameras, QSC pendant speakers, and Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphones ensure extensive coverage and superior audio quality.
