The importance of connecting the workforce everywhere once again comes into focus now that the end of restrictions is on the horizon. An essential part of running a business is communication, and it’s the employer’s responsibility to make sure that communication is possible.
Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology (DECT) handsets are viewed as an answer to this problem in sectors where employees are on the move constantly such as in hospitals, clinics and warehouses.
Finding the best connection for a DECT base station indoors can often pose technical challenges - especially if transferring calls needs to happen seamlessly across many handsets. But it gets really tricky when trying to find a connection across outdoor areas too.
In comes Snom, a German business and industrial VoIP specialist, with its M900 Outdoor DECT multi-cell base station, ensuring businesses have a high-quality, durable communications control centre for outdoor environments.
Overcoming challenges
Snom’s M900 VoIP-based DECT multicell base station is easy to install and equipped with an IP55 certified, IK08 shock-resistant protective housing, made of weather and UV resistant plastic, that overcomes many of the challenges of outdoor use.
The M900 outdoor station has a radio range of 50 metres indoors and 300 metres outdoors, enabling a smooth, uninterrupted telecommunication experience. It is compatible with the Snom M25, M65, M70, M80, M85 and M90 handsets and can be intuitively installed on walls, ceilings and masts.
Other notable features of the M900 Outdoor include DECT and LAN synchronisation, PoE and power supply support, TLS encryption and local, XML and LDAP telephone book support, as well as the ability to enable individual installations of up to 1,000 multicells and 4,000 handsets.
