Swoop Datacom - Avaya Cloud Device Lifecycle Management for SPs

ForgeServe and Avaya announce a partnership to provide device life-cycle management for service providers.

Swoop Datacom, a world leader in IP device provisioning and management, today announced ForgeServe support for the Avaya Desktop Experience, including the Avaya Essential Experience J100 Series of IP Phones and the Avaya Vantage Multimedia Communications Devices.

Enabling digital transformation for businesses worldwide has been a critical focus for Avaya and the ForgeServe platform offers an advanced array of IP device provisioning and management features and functions to the list of innovative tools already available.

The shift of Unified Communications to the Cloud continues and with this comes the need to deploy more IP phones and devices. These devices become the lens through which business customers view and rate their communications experience. Today’s announcement enables customers’ UC experience to be easily orchestrated and differentiated by using Avaya desktop technology innovations.

Greg Pelton, VP, Collaboration and Devices of Avaya, told UC Today about the partnership with ForgeServe.

“UC is moving to the cloud – but the end-user desktop experience has not kept pace and can’t leverage the power of these new models,”

“Today’s announcement is a very exciting one for UC service providers in that they can now leverage the ForgeServe platform along with Avaya’s latest Essential Experience IP Phones and Avaya Vantage multimedia communications devices to provide their customers with a differentiated desktop experience. They can look to Forgeserve to help them reduce the overhead and costs associated with device management.”

Leading market distributors, Westcon-Comstor and ScanSource, will provide the primary delivery mechanism for new product deployments globally. Both organisations are already utilising the power of ForgeServe in other areas of their IP device portfolios so are familiar with is benefits.

UC Today were also able to speak to John Bennett, CEO of Swoop Datacom Ltd, for his perspective on the new solution.

"Our solution can remove the barriers many partners face when upgrading customers to the next generation of Avaya unified communication solutions, whilst reducing operating expenditure and simplifying processes and procedures,"

“The Avaya Desktop Experience allows Service Providers to modernize their Cloud UC offerings and differentiate with devices that extend the value proposition beyond just call control with access to millions of cloud-based applications. Avaya has shipped over 130 million desktop devices to date and is one of the most trusted brands in UC. We are very excited to be working with Avaya to help revolutionize the end user communications experience and our continued partnership and support for additional Avaya devices.”

Avaya is a global leader in enterprise communications, with an extensive range of available technology solutions. Now their global customer and partner community will be able to utilise ForgeServe, which will enable single pane estate management, real-time change control, zero-touch device provisioning and enhanced logistics.
