Comms vNext’s Microsoft UC conference will be running from August 16-17.
The in-person conference is taking place in Denver, Colorado, for the fourth consecutive year.
Comms vNext includes talks from Microsoft MVPs on a range of topics, an exhibition hall of companies connected to Microsoft, and more. The sessions will also be made available online.
What is Comms vNext?
Comms vNext describes itself as “an independent, community-led event, created and fashioned with the community in mind... a place where the community can meet, connect and share information and ideas.”
The conference models itself closely on the Lync Conferences, which took place in San Diego in 2013 and Las Vegas in 2014.
Josh Blalock, one of the founders of Comms vNext, realised there was a big demand for a Lync-style conference in which the applicants and technologies took centre stage.
The theme of Microsoft in unified communications was born out of the office 365-centred UCDayUK conference, which was happening around the same time Blalock discovered a common craving for a Lync-based set-up.
Blalock formed Comms vNext with Microsoft MVPs Jonathan McKinney, Adam Ball, and Pat Richard and launched the inaugural conference in June 2018.
Comms vNext Schedule Highlights
Highlights for Comms vNext 2022 include a keynote address and talk on Microsoft Teams by MVP Tom Arbuthnot, who recently launched Empowering.Cloud as a Teams advice and training centre for IT professionals.
Michael Tressler, Christina Wheeler, Nathan Loback, Matt Slaga, and Laurie Pottmeyer are among the speakers also basing their talks around Microsoft Teams.
Stacy Deere will be talking about the functionality of Microsoft Loop, which can raise the bar for collaboration even higher for Microsoft 365.
