What's new in Webex? Feb 2022 Update

Cisco Webex adds audio intelligence, transcription in 100+ languages, HubSpot integration and Simulive for hybrid events.

Webex February 2022 update

Cisco has released its latest blog of Webex updates, with new features spanning audio, transcription and virtual events.

We've rounded up the highlights here.

Platform Updates

Webex revealed a number of product and feature updates across its UC platform, spanning audio, translation, virtual backgrounds, user engagement, and analytics. In audio, a new setting allows users to optimise sound to cater for all voices in a meeting. Specifically, this levels audio for people in meeting rooms that may be sitting different distances away from microphones. Webex dubs this ‘audio intelligence’ and demonstrated it in a video on YouTube. Visually, Webex has added a host of new animated and static images, while users can also create their own images using image, GIF or MP4 files. Webex also expanded its existing translation and transcription services, with 13 additional languages now available. This takes the total up to more than 100. A full list of supported languages can be found here.

The build-in Slido experience has also been given a makeover, with polls, quizzes and Q&As redesigned. Users can enable the fresh look in the sidebar menu before a meeting starts. The poll template library has also been redesigned. IT admins can now customise their own analytics dashboard using the Webex Control Hub. Charts and KPIs from the Control Hub’s library can also be implemented.

HubSpot Integration

Webex revealed a new integration with HubSpot which means meetings can be scheduled within HubSpot without having to switch between applications. The integration automatically inserts a Webex link into HubSpot meetings and covers the sending of email invites and calendar updates.

Meeting Rooms

Webex revealed that new languages are available for Webex Assistant for Devices. Japanese is the latest addition, alongside German, French and Spanish. Webex said more languages will be supported soon. Webex Room Panama offers a panoramic view of point-to-point calls in the meeting room using two 82” screens and one 65” screen for shared content. This comes shortly after the release of the Webex Room 55 Duel which uses two 55-inch LED screens.

Latest to Hybrid Events

Simulive now allows you to pre-record an event and then play it as if it were live to your audience. All chat and interactions will be in time with the Simulive recording. Socio’s Video Hosting technology allows you to keep all your videos in one place, making it easy to access them during an event. Cisco acquired the hybrid event platform Socio Labs last year.
