Advancing RCS: Sinch Expands Partnership with Verizon to Enable RBM

Sinch has expanded its partnership with Verizon to provide and enable RCS for Business Messaging (RBM) to Verizon subscribers.

Sinch and Verizon RCS RBM partnership

Sinch has expanded its partnership with Verizon to provide and enable RCS for Business Messaging (RBM) to Verizon subscribers.

“Partnering with MNOs like Verizon underscores our commitment to providing expanded reach for RCS with innovative communications solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty,”

Lodema Steinbach, VP of Product and Carrier Relations for North America at Sinch, said.

Announced alongside Sinch’s presence this week at Enterprise Connect, the expanded partnership will leverage the two companies' combined expertise and resources, including Verizon's network and Sinch's cloud, to accelerate the expansion of RCS coverage.

Why Sinch and Verizon are Improving RCS

Much customer communication with companies is currently being undertaken via phone.

Companies, as a result, have implemented a number of omnichannel resources to cater to customers.

However, the space is currently flooded with fraud calls and SMS.

This represents a potential threat to companies being able to contact their customers.

Yet RCS is seen as a way businesses can fight fraud messages by offering additional security to ensure customers and give them confidence.

RCS offers features such as verified sender profiles, secure communication, and enhanced engagement capabilities, making interactions more reliable and secure.

That is what the partnership between Sinch and Verizon intends to do.

It aims to bring secure, feature-rich, and verified business-to-consumer messaging to Verizon subscribers – enhancing customer engagement, trust, and overall communication experiences.

“With over 15 years of building the best super network and strong partnerships with Google and mobile operators globally, Sinch continues to pave the way for advanced communication solutions that meet the evolving needs of modern businesses and enables a better experience for end users,” Steinbach said.

Sinch’s Customer Communications Cloud enables businesses to access the full potential of RCS through its suite of APIs.

This is then enabled by its campaign builder, conversational AI tools, and integrations with platforms.

Verizon Underpinning Connectivity

Due to Verizon's network infrastructure, the company is often turned to for help supporting the connectivity of new projects.

Earlier this year, the company delivered One Talk T67 LTE devices to serve as the new VoIP solution for the US' biggest fire department.

Equally, it partnered with Vonage to introduce Verizon network APIs to Vonage’s platform, empowering developers to access network services and capabilities.
