Bandwidth Goes for Growth as it Appoints Devesh Agarwal as COO

Bandwidth names Devesh Agarwal COO to drive growth and innovation, building on Universal Platform, Maestro, CCaaS, UCaaS and AI. Published on UC Today.

Bandwidth appoints Devesh Agarwal COO

Bandwidth has come out of the blocks fast for 2025 with an announcement of its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), Devesh Agarwal, in a move that aims to pursue "growth and innovation".

Bandwidth—A global enterprise cloud communications company—gave Agarwal the role on 1 January following his stewardship of the position as interim COO since Anthony Bartolo's departure in July 2024.

"Devesh has demonstrated both the vision and the heart for our mission to serve customers while also lifting up Bandmates globally," Bandwidth CEO David Morken said of the announcement.

Agarwal's Edge

Although he only joined in July 2022 as Chief Software Strategy Officer, Agarwal has a breadth of leadership experience in positions both in Bandwidth and beyond that prepare him for the role.

Starting as a software engineer for mobile handset manufacturer Alcatel, his career trajectory has since seen him merge the technology side with the commercial.

He went on to head sales and go-to-market projects as VP of Global Sales Engineering Oracle and lead a global team of over 500 people across engineering, product management and product marketing at network intelligence company Sandvine as Chief Product Officer.

“I'm honoured to lead as chief operating officer at such an important time in Bandwidth's growth and evolution," Agarwal said of the move.

A Record of Innovation

Agarwal has already spearheaded growth during his tenure at the pre-packaged software company.

He led the design and development of the company's recently announced global Universal Platform and accelerated the delivery of key innovations, including the award-winning Bandwidth Maestro platform.

Maestro, Bandwidth's enterprise communications cloud and orchestration platform that includes pre-built integrations to CCaaS, UCaaS and conversational AI, and Universal Platform, a single platform aimed at enhancing integration and automated workflows, were both released in the second half of 2024.

Bandwidth's 2024 third quarter delivered record growth across all its products and customer categories and saw its total revenue reach $194 million, a 28 percent increase.

Plans for Growth

"Devesh will lead execution of Bandwidth's strategy, engage with global customers, spearhead innovation, achieve operational excellence and elevate our company culture," Morken continued.

Agarwal's career is marked by a track record of innovation, with him holding 25 patents in the technology sector.

"Bandwidth's strong customer base, market leadership and product innovation are enviable," says Agarwal.

"I look forward to working alongside our talented Bandmates to drive further growth, deliver exceptional value to customers and help write the next chapter of our success."

Bandwidth's solutions currently cover over 65 countries and  works with Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, RingCentral, Zoom, Genesys, and Five9 to deliver communication services.
