Biamp has announced that it has agreed to acquire the assets of ClearOne.
The acquisition will give the AV provider access to ClearOne’s intellectual property (IP) and brands.
“Bringing these assets into Biamp strengthens our already deep audio engineering foundation and will enhance future product innovations across our portfolio,"
Rashid Skaf, Biamp President, CEO, and Co-Chairman, said.
Examining the Acquisition
ClearOne provides conferencing, collaboration, and streaming solutions for businesses and institutions, including AV equipment and software.
Its product range includes video conferencing systems, interactive displays, and networked audio systems designed to enhance communication and collaboration in environments such as conference rooms, classrooms, and telemedicine facilities.
Biamp’s acquisition gives it access to these assets and product inventory, including designs and several patents associated with beamforming microphone arrays and related audio signal-processing innovations.
The acquisition also provides Biamp with access to ClearOne customer data, among other assets.
However, books and records of ClearOne’s parent company, the equity of any of the sellers or their subsidiaries, and a number of other assets of ClearOne’s parent public company are excluded from the deal.
