Cisco Webex and Workplace from Facebook shared vision

Consolidation and partnerships are common in the communication and collaboration world. This is particularly true as more companies strive to deliver the right selection of tools and solutions to the evolving workplace. Now that employees are fully embracing the potential of “anywhere work”, vendors are under more pressure to make virtual teamwork as immersive as conversations in-person.

To serve this new landscape, two major market leaders, Cisco and Workplace from Facebook will now be working together more closely. Julien Codorniou, the VP of Workplace from Facebook, announced the new partnership on LinkedIn, following an official reveal at Cisco’s event, WebexOne.

The two companies say that they will be working together on a “joint product vision”, which will include a combined commercial offer between Workplace from Facebook, and Webex.

Two Giants Join Forces

The improved collaboration between Cisco and Workplace from Facebook will bring the broadcast and engagement functionalities of Workplace, together with the highly-secure Webex video hardware and software suite from Cisco. Users will be able to broadcast through Webex software and hardware solutions, delivering an appealing end-to-end solution for anyone in the business landscape.

According to Workplace, executives, communication teams, IT, and HR alike will all benefit from the ability to interact and engage in real-time through immersive broadcasting experiences. The two companies even agreed to offer Webex customers access to a free six months with Workplace from Facebook, so companies can easily experience the benefits for themselves.

Julien noted in his LinkedIn post that the partnership between Cisco and Workplace from Facebook is paving the way for enterprises around the world to “go live” with the two services. Senior VP and general manager for Cisco Webex, Jeetu Patel, said the vision Webex has in building an open ecosystem approach with partners is to ensure that everyone can leverage Webex’s full potential, no matter which app they’re using.

A Powerful New Approach to Broadcasting

The industry-leading video technology that Cisco has to offer, with extensive software and hardware functionality, scalability, and security, will be a powerful addition to Workplace’s community-focused broadcasting solutions. The two companies working together should open the door to a new level of quick and effective communication between teams.

With a single click, businesses will be able to use the software and hardware they trust from Cisco to go live and connect with users directly through comments, reactions, and even Q&A sessions. This will turn the standard broadcast experience into a more immersive and interactive conversation for the new work environment. In an age where work is constantly changing, Workplace and Cisco are striving to ensure that teams can feel more engaged and empowered than ever.

Workplace customers can get a Webex Enterprise license trial for free, for a limited time.
