Microsoft has revealed plans to open up Together mode for developers.

In an update on the Teams roadmap, the vendor revealed that developers will soon be able to create and upload custom teams for the meeting view.

Microsoft said: “Build your own scenes that elevate your meeting experience.

“We believe that by making Together Mode extensible, creators can create immersive scenes and users can go beyond simple video conferencing.

“Start building your scenes by going to the Developer Portal for Microsoft Teams.”

The feature was added to the roadmap on 11 May and is pencilled in for a June release date.

Together mode, which was released for Teams last year, pulls each meeting participants video feed and places them into one scene, such as an auditorium.

Zoom last month released a similar product, Immersive View, which was first announced at Zoomtopia last year.
