Spectrum Enterprise has partnered with Cisco to enhance cybersecurity solutions for businesses.
Spectrum has introduced Secure Access with Cisco Duo and Cloud Security with Cisco+ Secure Connect to its portfolio. The intention is to enable organizations to provide secure, simple ways for employees and stakeholders to access business-sensitive information and applications on private networks and public clouds.

New Enhancement Features
Secure Access with Cisco Duo aims to protect businesses from unauthorized access, credentials abuse and account takeover in the event of stolen or compromised credentials. IT teams can establish set access policies specified for the user and device, regardless of location. The option includes multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), passwordless and risk-based authentication.
Cloud Security with Cisco+ Secure Connect introduces further cybersecurity protection for users accessing public clouds when hybrid working. The offering uses a zero-trust approach to network access to best defend against data breaches and losses, malware and regulatory violations. The result is a centralized, streamlined way to standardize security priorities across cloud locations and devices.
Updates to Spectrum’s Network Services Portfolio
Both new Cisco offerings integrate with Spectrum’s established network services solutions, including Managed Network Edge and Enterprise Network Edge.
Managed Network Edge and Enterprise Network Edge are modular platforms to refine network management and deployment. Their holistic range of features encompasses connectivity, equipment and network management, and they offer routing, SD-WAN, switching, security, LAN options and remote access.
The integrations with Secure Access with Cisco Duo and Cloud Security with Cisco+ Secure Connect provide customers with the complete protection of a secure access service edge (SASE).
Hybrid Working Encouraging Growth of Cybersecurity Solutions
The rise of hybrid working has inevitably prompted debate about security and compliance risks outside on-premises networks. The demand for solutions to such problems is increasingly matched by its supply.
Cisco was in the news last month for other security-oriented solutions. To address national security concerns, the vendor announced adding air-gapping to Webex in 2024. Cisco’s Webex for Government air-gapping solution will establish a U.S.-based cloud environment isolated from public networks and operated by local staff with specific security authorizations to access sensitive data.
Cloud-based email security vendor Abnormal Security recently launched new threat detection capabilities for Teams, Zoom and Slack. Abnormal’s three email-centric products were designed to help users of the Teams, Zoom and Slack platforms detect suspicious messages, remedy compromised accounts, and provide data and management services for security posture.
Last month, Lumen partnered with Versa Networks to bolster its range of network services and security solutions. Lumen is leveraging Versa’s SASE software into its expansive network and cloud platform availability. The plan is for users to have better control and visibility and simplified network and security management of cloud-based applications on any device.
