After many years as an all-in-one video conferencing solution leader, DTEN has recently decided to expand their solution portfolio, launching their brand new DTEN Video Bar, paired with award-winning meeting controller DTEN Mate to create the complete Small Room Solution Kit.
In a recent chat with DTENβs Global Head of Marketing, Nia Celestin, we delved into the solutionβs unique differentiators, the companyβs overall strategy, future plans, and upcoming ISE presence.

What to Expect? The DTEN Video Bar in a Nutshell
So, what can you expect from the new DTEN Video Bar?
Cool features first: Other than boasting a 4K camera, a 12-microphone array, and 30-watt speakers, the video bar introduces a unique 360-degree flip capability. This allows flexible mounting above, below, or vertically, maintaining consistent aspect ratios and picture quality. This versatile placement enables users to position the bar between displays, facilitating a more natural eye-level view as well as visibility of both participants and shared content during meetings.
Additionally, the bar integrates advanced AI technology, distinguishing human faces and movements from other objects. This capability also enables features like Smart Gallery and Intelligent Director on the Zoom platform, contributing to meeting equity and offering diverse presentation styles.
The solutionβs multi-platform compatibility, soon to be certified for both Zoom and Microsoft Teams, coupled with BYOD capabilities, ensures seamless integration for users. DTEN also offers the option to incorporate its Orbit customer experience platform for streamlined remote management of all DTEN devices.
βWeβre extremely excited about this solution,β Celestin shares.
βWe believe it brings to market something truly unique, meeting the needs of our customers looking for increased flexibility in the deployment and configurations of their meeting rooms.β
Letβs Talk Strategy
While traditionally associated with all-in-one solutions, the introduction of the Video Bar marks an evolution rather than a shift in DTENβs strategy.
βOur decision to develop and launch this solution was driven by our close attention to our customersβ needs,β Celestin explains.
βWe identified a substantial demand for leveraging existing equipment like displays and controllers, driving us to create a product designed to easily transform rooms into video-enabled spaces.β
DTENβs current focus on small rooms aligns with its core vision of using cameras as augmentations for existing systems. This approach enables users to leverage the power and AI capabilities of the original device while expanding room coverage.
βThe emphasis on starting with small rooms is part of a scalable strategy, with a plan to expand the video bar to cover medium and large rooms later on,β Celestin notes.
βThe way to do this is by integrating with our DTEN Vue family of products, performing as complementary additions to the video bar.β
Whatβs Next?
Two major milestones are coming up in early 2024: Getting the new video bar Microsoft Teams certified and introducing compatibility with the DTEN Vue family of products to integrate additional cameras.
βWeβre highly committed to catering to versatile customer needs, whether they be platform-related or deployment-related,β Celestin assures.
And some exciting short-term news: DTEN will be showcasing the new video bar at the upcoming ISE, opening on January 30th in Barcelona, Spain.
βThis presents a valuable opportunity for our partners, customers, and prospects to witness the device in action,β Celestin shares.
βOur booth will have multiple bars, allowing visitors to fully experience the productβs features, explore its physical attributes, and understand its extensibility.β
For those unable to attend in person, virtual demonstrations are also available, offering a comprehensive dive into the unique capabilities of the DTEN Video Bar.
