Softphone producer CounterPath has built its reputation as a key innovator in the emergence of SIP-based VoIP and Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC).
Now the North American firm has won plaudits for its flagship UC product, scooping the gong for Best Unified Communications Solution at the TMT Technology Awards.
The prize was awarded for CounterPath’s Stretto Platform, an integration and management gateway for over the top communications. Stretto is designed to offer users full flexibility in combining and augmenting existing communications tools in a single enhanced platform.
The Stretto offers a full suite of modules, including provisioning, SIP messaging and presence, contact and presence, which can be deployed to suit the specific communications needs of each client. Moreover, these modules are agnostic to the existing comms network, meaning they can be added to current SBCs, VoIP, PBXs and cloud communication services.
TMT, an online industry news service for the tech, media and telecoms sectors, runs five annual awards, voted for by the service’s 82,000 subscribers.
