Crestron has been awarded the prestigious SAVe certification for sustainable AV production, deployment and management.
Sustainability in AV (SAVe), a US-based organisation dedicated to mobilising the AV industry to meet the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has announced that Crestron is now SAVe Certified. This certification illustrates Crestron’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
Christina De Bono, Founder and President of SAVe, commented:
We are thrilled that Crestron is the first manufacturer in the AV industry to become SAVe Certified. It’s a demonstration of its commitment to align with the Sustainable Development Goals and become a sustainability leader in our industry."
Crestron achieved this milestone after participating in the SAVe Certification Program on July 18, 2024, held at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
The event brought together over 30 Crestron employees from various departments, five SAVe representatives, and a guest speaker from Columbia’s Climate School. The day featured educational sessions on climate change, e-waste management, plastic pollution, and recycling.
These sessions were followed by a collaborative workshop in which Crestron employees devised strategies for aligning the company’s operations with the SDGs.
SAVe says that its Certification program underscores the power of cross-departmental collaboration. The organisation adds that Crestron employees participated in a dynamic exchange of ideas, fostering innovative and forward-thinking initiatives, particularly in Product Design, which is a key focus area.
This collaborative effort aspires to highlight the value of a unified approach to addressing sustainability challenges, instilling a shared sense of purpose among team members.
