Why it matters: Olive has named ex-Mitel executive Andrew Jane CTO to drive UC, cloud telephony and global cloud services. Published on UC Today.

Ex-Mitel exec named Olive CTO

Olive Communications, the fastest-growing provider of UC and cloud telephony in the UK, recently appointed Andrew Jane as their new CTO. As Chief Technology Officer, Jane will be responsible for helping Olive to drive forward their global tech and cloud services strategy in the months and years ahead.

An industry specialist, Andrew comes to Olive from a senior executive position with communication leader Mitel, where he was responsible for supporting the delivery of Mitel's Global cloud environments, applications, and infrastructure. The decision to make Jane CTO has come at a critical time for Olive, as the company continues to accelerate on its journey of high-level growth. Last month, the business announced ambitious plans for international expansion, opening a new Australian office, and planning an additional space in North America.

Transforming the Leadership Team

Jane will be responsible for handling innovation, technology, and product strategy as CTO, and will be reporting directly to the Olive Group CEO, Martin Flick. In a press release about Olive Communications' new Chief Technology Officer, Flick acknowledged that it's an exciting time for the business, as the plans that they have been pursuing for several years have started to pay off. Olive has grown its cloud revenues five-fold in the last four years, achieving incredible customer wins, and setting up partnerships with Vodafone and Mitel.

According to Flick, Olive was the first company in the UK to go to market with a fully integrated contact centre, and telephony solution from Mitel, alongside an integrated Vodafone mobile platform, all on a cloud-based subscription model. Olive was also the first to win an enterprise-scale UCaaS deployment and the first to deploy a hybrid World Cloud on a global level.

Jane noted that Olive has been very successful in recent years and has proven its ability to thrive in the current market. According to Andrew, it's exciting to be joining Olive as it "continues to expand its global reach," while also taking its technological capabilities even further.

Jane plans to continue supporting the differentiating factors like agility and vision that help Olive to stand out in the communications environment. According to Andrew, the leadership behind the Olive brand, and the company's ability to execute has enabled them to achieve the fantastic position that they're currently in. Jane is looking forward to supporting Olive and maintaining its strong track record of growth going forward.

According to Martin Flick, for Olive to continue meeting with market demand, the business needs to continuously innovate and deliver next-level solutions. Jane's experience in the marketplace will be invaluable to the team going forward, as they continue to strive to help customers solve real-world challenges in the business world.
