Exertis Adds Weight to AV and UC

Exertis has announced two appointments, one within its Pro AV division, Exertis Medium and the other within its Enterprise UC division

Exertis AV and UC expansion

Exertis, a leading distributor of technology products for the B2B, mobile and retail markets, has recently announced two appointments, one within its Pro AV division, Exertis Medium and the other within its Enterprise UC division. Steve Robertson has been promoted to head of AV sales, reporting to Ian Aitken, Exertis Medium director. Simon Cadman has joined Exertis as UC technical consultant reporting to Mark Weaver, Exertis UC sales manager.

“I am delighted to announce Steve’s thoroughly deserved promotion. He has established a great track record as a business development manager at Medium and since the acquisition has been a positive influence in integrating the company into our business,” said Aitken.

“He has forged strong and lasting relationships with our key vendors, and major customers and has the respect and support of all his colleagues across our organisation.”

Robertson, who has considerable AV experience having spent 13 years at Medium, will be responsible for delivering the overall sales number for Exertis Medium ensuring profitable growth for the business by providing solutions that meet the demands of AV specialist resellers.

Cadman spent 11 years at Trust Distribution as technical manager with previous spells at VeriFone, Nimans and Connect Telecomm. In his new role, he will be responsible for helping resellers to onboard with Exertis, utilising his technical expertise to ease the pain of onboarding and support the reseller with demonstrations, sales support and engagement with our professional services team.

Weaver said: “Simon will be a great asset to the UC team as he brings many years’ experience of the communications industry with him to Exertis. His product expertise and desire to put the customer first will help us drive our UC strategy into the channel.”

With the continued convergence of AV and IT, Unified Communications (UC) is becoming a key component in today’s collaborative solutions. UC still depends on devices and displays from the AV world and Exertis is best placed to help resellers in providing a total solution with its dedicated expertise across both technologies.

About Exertis Exertis (UK) Ltd is the leading technology distributor of IT, Communications and Home Entertainment products in the UK and a wholly owned subsidiary of parent company DCC PLC, a FTSE 100 company. After 36 years of profitability Exertis continues to outperform the market, quadrupling its business in the last 5 years and achieving revenues approaching £2.69 billion in FY2017.
