Luxembourg based Firstcom Europe announces the acquisition of Scandinavia’s Unified Communications provider and hardware distributor Nortech Telecom in a strategic move to accelerate the firm’s growth across Europe.
Based in Stockholm, Nortech Telecom was founded in 2001 and currently operates in the Nordic market with telephone services sold through its network of partners to the corporate market. Nortech’s service portfolio includes cloud services, operator traffic and Hardware distribution.
Firstcom Europe was established in 2013 as a result of the merger of UK’s VoIP.co.uk and Denmark’s Firstcom. In 2014 the Company then went on to acquire Germany’s Teleforte which also had a presence across Poland, and Spain.
In quarter 4 of 2015, Firstcom acquired Denmark’s Connection. This was followed by the purchase of Germany’s Citec in Quarter 4 2016.
Nortech, Citec and Connection have historically sold large volumes of customer site based switches. Firstcom will offer these clients modern cloud telephony, SIP trunking, and mobile services.
