Google opens Workspace to all Google account users, with Gmail, Meet, Calendar and Slides, plus Workspace Individual for premium collaboration. Published on UC

Google Workspace available to all users

Google has made Workspace available to all users with a Google account and announced a premium individual subscription.

Workspace - which includes the likes of Gmail, Meet, Calendar and Slide – was launched last year as a more integrated platform for the components of G Suite.

In a blog post, Google said: “Over the last year, we’ve delivered innovations that bring together the content, communications and tasks that help millions of businesses, non-profits and classrooms transform how they collaborate, make the most of their time, and have more impact.

“By bringing Google Workspace to everyone, we’re making it easy for people to stay connected, get organised and achieve more together, whether it’s advancing a cause, planning your family reunion, assigning next steps for the PTA or discussing this month’s book club pick.”

Users can enable the Workspace experience by enabling Google Chat via Gmail.

The new Workspace Individual subscription will be $9.99 per month and provide “premium capabilities”, such as smart booking services, professional video meetings and customisable email marketing.

The service will be available in six launch regions: the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Japan.

Google also said it will rebrand Rooms to Google Spaces over the summer, with Spaces set to become the hub for collaborative tasks.

“Spaces will seamlessly integrate with your files and tasks, becoming your new home in Google Workspace for getting more done,” Google added.
