Flexibility is key to how businesses need to operate when choosing UC and collaboration products for employees, according to Ankita Dasgupta, Senior Product Marketing Manager at GoTo.
In a chat with UC Today, Dasgupta outlined her thoughts on how businesses should operate following the Covid-19 pandemic and expressed the need to support employees no matter where they choose to work.
She commented: "We like to use this phrase of work smarter, not harder, so when companies are looking for a product, it's really about minimizing how long it's going to take individuals to switch from tool to tool and give time back to their own employees to then hit their business goals.
"Flexibility is integral to how I think all businesses need to operate these days.
"We're talking about how we can support all workers, whether they're completely remote, whether they want to be hybrid, or if they really do want to go into the office because you can't solve for one, you have to solve for many.
"So, your technology needs to be able to have that unified communication and collaboration no matter where that employee is so that you have the efficiency across the board, and once you hit that efficiency, the businesses will be able to work as well as they possibly could."
Dasgupta also stated that in a post-pandemic world, businesses could look at saving money; however, it does not necessarily have to be a priority.
She highlighted that customers still want to engage with companies, and making that as easy as possible should be a key factor when businesses look for technology.
Dasgupta added: "At GoTo, we talked about this a lot because when the pandemic happened, there was great uncertainty, nobody knew really how to deal with it, so cost savings can be a priority.
"It doesn't necessarily have to be the priority, and really what should be driving the board for a lot of these companies is how can you continue to hit success for your company?
