During the summer, Zoom published a blog that speculated on the future of the workplace.
Although the conferencing provider could not predict the future, the blog did disclose that only one percent of Zoom users are in favour of going back to the nine-to-five, with half in favour of a hybrid setup.
Regardless of how businesses decide to move forward, it's inevitable that more of our interactions will be over an internet connection. Companies must provide the best conditions for employees to ensure they are not burning out while on long video calls.
A critical factor of maintaining attention spans is the audio that employees experience when on these calls. We have all heard the rather unfortunate effect back-to-back meetings have on productivity. Businesses can change this with easy-to-integrate software development kits (SDKs) that take advantage of different audio outputs to mimic a meeting room experience whilst employees are sitting at their kitchen tables.
Speaking to UC Today, Tamara Prabhakar, Product Development Analyst at Immersitech, said installing audio software is not complex.
"Integration complexity can vary a lot based on support capabilities. Audio integrations are fairly simple to implement," said Prabhakar. "A highly customised application may be more complex, but overall, lots of commercial offerings and even open-source packages have detailed, helpful documentation and easy instructions for how to use and integrate audio software.
“This translates to a more satisfied end-user with the enhancements providing a much better user experience with less background noise and improved voice clarity. "
